Check-in and arrival

Last updated August 26, 2026

This guide explains how to prepare for arrival, access your Rove home, and get help with a check-in issue.

Arrival procedures vary by home, building, market, and booking channel. Always follow the check-in instructions provided for your specific reservation.

1. Complete your pre-arrival requirements

Before receiving access details, you may need to complete:

  • Required payments
  • Booking Pass
  • Identity verification or screening
  • Rental agreement or lease
  • Security deposit, card hold, or Damage Waiver
  • Building, HOA, condo or co-op, landlord, owner, or property approval

Not every stay has the same requirements. Complete all assigned steps and approvals as early as possible.

2. Review your check-in instructions

Rove sends check-in and access details before arrival after the applicable pre-arrival requirements are complete.

Before traveling, check your email, text messages, Rove account, and Booking Pass communications. Review:

  • Property address
  • Check-in date and time
  • Guest and pet details
  • Identification requirements
  • Parking or building procedures
  • Key, lockbox, smart-lock, front-desk, or doorman instructions
  • The support contact provided for your reservation

Do not share access codes, keys, or entry instructions with anyone who is not an approved guest.

3. Confirm your check-in time

Standard check-in is 4:00 p.m. and standard checkout is 10:00 a.m., unless the listing, reservation, House Rules, or check-in instructions state otherwise.

Some properties have restricted arrival or move-in hours. Follow the time confirmed for your reservation.

4. Request early check-in

Early check-in is not guaranteed. It depends on availability, cleaning and property readiness, building rules, and any required approvals.

Contact Rove before arrival to request it. Early check-in requires written confirmation and may involve an additional charge.

Do not arrive early unless Rove has approved the request.

5. Follow the property-specific access process

Access methods vary and may include:

  • Front desk or doorman registration
  • Government-issued photo identification
  • Key or key-fob pickup
  • Lockbox, smart-lock, or keypad access
  • Building, elevator, gate, garage, or parking instructions

Follow the instructions exactly. Do not force a door, lock, lockbox, gate, or other access device.

6. Get help if you cannot enter

If your instructions are missing:

  1. Check your email and spam folder, text messages, Rove account, and Booking Pass communications.
  2. Confirm that all required pre-arrival steps are complete.
  3. Contact the support channel listed in your reservation communications.

If you are at the property and a key, code, lockbox, smart lock, fob, front desk, or other access method does not work, contact Rove immediately.

For immediate danger or risk to people or property, contact local emergency services first.

7. Check the home after arrival

After entering, promptly check the home for:

  • Cleanliness concerns
  • Visible damage or missing items
  • Safety or security concerns
  • Non-working water, power, heating, cooling, or other critical systems
  • Major amenities that are unavailable or materially different from the listing

Report any issue promptly and include clear photos or videos, its location, and when you noticed it.

For instructions on documenting damage, maintenance, cleanliness, or safety concerns, see Reporting damage or an issue.

For arrival assistance, use the contact method provided with your reservation or email concierge@rovetravel.com.
