What is RoveCore?

RoveCore is Rove's property management platform that gives you the tools to list, price, and manage your rental while maintaining control over your operations. You handle day-to-day hosting; Rove provides the technology, booking infrastructure, and guest protection programs along with access to Rove’s clientele on Rovetravel.com bookings.

Guest Protection Options

Guests opt in to Rove’s damage waiver and/or security deposit program. All RoveTravel.com are also covered by up to $5M of damage protection (See the $5M damage policy for information).

Damage Waiver

A fee paid by guests at booking that covers accidental damage.

  • Coverage limit: Up to $2,500 per incident
  • Cost to guest: Included in booking fees
  • What's covered: Accidental damage during stay
  • What's NOT covered: Intentional damage, theft, normal wear and tear, pre-existing conditions
  • Claims timeline: Submit within 7 days of checkout; processed within 14 days. $500 deductible for any claims exceeding waiver limit.

Security Deposit

A refundable hold on the guest's payment method.

  • Deposit amount: Approximately. $2,000 (based on market and length of stay)
  • Hold timing: Authorized at booking, captured only if damage occurs
  • Release: Released within 7 days of checkout if no damage claimed
  • Claims: Host must document damage with photos and submit within 7 days. $500 deductible for non Airbnb claims.

Guest Screening Process for RoveTravel.com

Rove uses a multi-layered screening approach varies by length of stay and property location.

All Stays:

  • Identity verification
    • Government-issued photo ID verification
    • Selfie match to verify the person matches their ID
  • Risk Assessment
    • Fraud detection including high-risk booking patterns flagged by Autohost's AI database
    • Payment verification & risk analysis
    • Guest booking history on Rove (when applicable)

30+ Day Stays:

  • Enhanced screening process including
    • Criminal background check
    • Sex-offender registry check
    • Global watchlist screening

Timeline

  • Screening request initiated immediately upon booking payment and rental agreement signature
  • Results typically available within minutes of completion
  • Hosts notified of any red flags before check-in
  • Guests may be contacted by Rove support team for additional verification if needed

Host Controls

  • Set additional house rules and guest requirements
  • Contact support to report concerns about any booking

Note: All screening is subject to applicable fair housing laws and anti-discrimination regulations. Rove cannot guarantee prevention of all incidents but maintains industry-standard verification protocols.

Lease Agreement (NYC Only)

For bookings of 30 days or longer in New York City, a Lease Agreement is required and automatically generated for guest signature before arrival.

What It Covers:

  • Rental terms and house rules
  • Check-in/check-out times
  • Occupancy limits
  • Noise and party policies
  • Damage and liability acknowledgment
  • Cancellation terms

Why It Matters:

  • Creates a binding agreement between you and the guest
  • Satisfies NYC legal requirements for monthly rentals
  • Provides documentation if disputes arise

The lease is generated based on your property settings. Review your house rules in the dashboard to ensure accuracy.

Fees

  • RoveCore service fee: 10-12% of booking revenue (will not exceed 12% unless not
  • Payment processing: Paid by guest
  • Damage waiver (if enabled): Paid by guest
  • Security deposit (if no damage waiver): Refundable and held by Rove; no fee to host or guest

Payouts

  • Standard stays: Payouts initiated 48 hours after guest check-in
  • Monthly stays (30+ days): Paid monthly from the check-in date
  • Funds typically arrive within 2-3 business days of initiation, depending on your bank

Host Responsibilities

RoveCore hosts manage their own operations:

You Manage:

  • All guest communication before, during, and after stays
  • Cleaning coordination and turnover
  • Maintenance and repairs
  • Restocking supplies
  • Key/access management

Rove Handles:

  • Assisting prospective guests with booking inquiries on RoveTravel.com
  • Payment collection and processing
  • Damage waiver/deposit administration
  • Lease agreement generation (NYC 30+ day bookings)
  • Booking platform and channel distribution
  • Payout remittance

Booking Policies

Cancellations

  • Rove enforces it’s cancellation policies on all RoveCore bookings
  • Guests who cancel within policy terms forfeit applicable fees per the policy

Your Control

  • Set nightly rates and minimum stays
  • Block dates for personal use
  • Define house rules and guest requirements
  • Choose instant book or request-to-book
  • Opt into additional channels (Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com)

Insurance Requirements

  • Hosts must maintain adequate homeowner's, landlord, or short-term rental insurance
  • RoveCore's damage waiver and security deposits supplement, but do not replace, proper insurance coverage
  • Consider additional coverage for high-value items or unique property features
