Verification and Booking Pass
Last updated August 26, 2026
This guide explains the pre-arrival steps guests may need to complete through Rove’s secure Booking Pass.
It applies primarily to direct reservations made through RoveTravel.com. If you booked through Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, or another platform, that platform’s terms also apply, but Rove may still require verification, agreements, and other pre-arrival steps before providing access details.
1. Receive your Booking Pass
After booking, Rove sends the primary guest a secure Booking Pass link with the steps required before the stay.
Complete the Booking Pass as soon as possible. All applicable requirements and approvals must be completed before check-in.
2. Confirm guest and stay details
The primary booking guest must complete the Booking Pass and provide accurate information about the stay.
Depending on the reservation, Rove may also request information or verification for additional guests. The primary guest’s name should match the identification and payment information provided for the booking.
3. Complete identity verification
Rove may ask the primary guest to provide:
- A valid government-issued photo ID
- A live selfie or similar identity check
- Information that matches the booking and payment details
Screening requirements vary based on the property, market, stay length, booking type, and applicable law. Rove may request additional information when needed.
4. Sign the applicable agreement
Guests may be required to review and electronically sign a guest agreement, rental agreement, lease, or occupancy agreement.
For stays of 30 nights or more, a residential lease or occupancy agreement may be required. The applicable agreement contains important payment, cancellation, occupancy, damage, and property rules.
5. Complete payment-protection requirements
Depending on the reservation, the Booking Pass may require:
- A refundable security deposit
- A card authorization hold
- A non-refundable Damage Waiver
The required option, amount, and timing will be shown during booking, in the Booking Pass, or in the applicable agreement.
6. Complete additional property approvals
Some homes require approval from a building, HOA, condo or co-op board, landlord, owner, or property manager.
These processes may require additional documents, fees, or processing time and may be outside Rove’s control. You cannot check in until all required approvals are complete.
Start these steps promptly and follow any specific deadlines provided for your reservation.
7. Get cleared for arrival
Rove provides check-in instructions, property-address details where applicable, and access information after the required pre-arrival steps are complete.
If a required step remains incomplete or cannot be approved, Rove may:
- Request additional information
- Withhold check-in or access details
- Cancel the reservation under the applicable terms
Failure to complete required screening may result in cancellation penalties under the cancellation policy. Third-party application or screening fees may remain non-refundable.
